Where Fear Ends Life Begins

Fear is such a unique topic. Fear can effect our life in so many different ways.

It can keep us safe, by stopping us from doing things that may be dangerous. For example, if allowed my fear of heights get in the way – I would’ve never had the opportunity to learn to snowboard. The lifts alone could have paralyzed me from being about to try something new.

Yet, people allow their fears get in the way of everything they do. When you ask a child what they are afraid of, they will tell you sharks, spiders, dying, going up in a tree (heights), drowning, and choking. The truth is adults think about fears differently than children.

As adults, our life experiences get in the way. We tend to shy away from the very things that will help us grow and fear has a lot to do with it.

The question is what can we do? And the very answer is to live outside of your comfort zone. What does that mean? Fear can cripple you or propel you, it is up to you to decide. The only way for your life to begin is to have the courage to face your fears.

The worst thing you can do is … AVOID the fear. This helps it grow and it will get worse.

Of course, this is easier said then done. So what steps do you need to take to get over your fear? Build your courage!

  1. read scripture about fear
  2. acknowledge the fear
  3. be realistic about how the fear is holding you back
  4. take 20 seconds of bravery to face your fears, just do it
  5. do a little each day
  6. break down the bigger fears into smaller steps
  7. do not be afraid to ask for help

Have your fears propel and step out of your comfort zone. I know you can do it, but the question is … do you?

After all, Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe (Proverbs 29:25). AND … Where Fear Ends Life Begins!
