So let’s briefly answer the question, what is H.E.R.E.? H.E.R.E. stands for the acronym Health, Education, Relationships, and Emotional. It encompasses 4 very important areas of your life.
For the purposes of this blog space, it will help categorize topics into sections.
HEALTH is defined as the way the WHOLE body adapts to changing external and internal circumstances. Okay so in normal language, what you put in your body, and what you do with your body, and how your body responds to both. Basically, your physical state which includes diet, exercise, and the mind.
EDUCATION is about continual learning, whether it be academic, financial or personal growth, all are equally important. Our academic educational systems may differ, however, the end result regarding learning the necessary skills such as reading and writing to function within our communities and homes. Financial education includes all money related activities such as creating budgets, financial planning, spending, saving, and donating, etc. Personal growth is equally important as formal education because it is an ongoing process, a forever process. There is always room for growth and self-improvement because in order to become a better person, change must happen – personal growth leads to change.
RELATIONSHIPS are the connections you have to others. This includes your family, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, peers, and pets, etc.
EMOTIONAL includes our psychological or mental state of mind and heart including your faith. Of course, our emotions play a large role, but we are also including our moral compass, the ability to control behavior, attention, thoughts, and stress level. How we see ourselves or feel about ourselves can alter and impact our state of mind, including self-esteem, self-control, and self-awareness.
