Last night as I focused on a gratitude moment, I started to think about how important it is to be in the moment.
Looking back at a period of time and thinking “that was an amazing time” but knowing you didn’t know it while you were in it started to feel sad to me.
After being in a horrible situation for so long, it now feels so easy for me to recognize and be grateful for these amazing moments now as they happen. And when the gratitude leaves your heart so full you could cry, you feel humbled.
Did you know that gratitude has a physical sensation? It is hard to describe but it can feel warm, like the world around you slows a bit, a wholeness in your heart, and can lead to tears or a smile or both.
Of course, it still feels sad when it ends and new chapter begins. So tonight and always I will commit and continue to choose to “shut off the a/c and roll the windows down” and enjoy the wonder of now.
