This is the most amazing way to deep condition your damaged hair. This homemade hair care mask and hair care tips will eliminate frizz. Below are 5 steps to healthy hair and best of all, it is so easy to do.
My hair was so damaged before I tried this coconut oil hair treatment. Now after this DIY hair mask, I have healthy hair. Here are the before and after pictures to prove it 😉

This hair care treatment is good for all hair types. Coconut oil is amazing for your hair. It penetrates the hair shaft to moisturize from within and repair damaged hair, strengthen hair, reduce split ends, and gives your hair a healthy shine. I use the egg wash to remove the coconut oil, clarify the hair, and repair the hair. The egg wash repairs the hair by adding proteins and vitamins.
Here is what you will need:
- 1/2 cup Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil (warm)
- 1 Tbsp. Organic Jojoba Oil
- Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap
- 2 Raw Eggs with 2 Tbsp. of water
- Young Living Lavender Essential Oil (optional)
- Requires 1-2 hours of time
These are links to the ingredients that I use and love. However, use what you have in your home. In addition, sometimes I buy my coconut oil at Costco for the same price.
Step One
Wash your hair normally and towel dry normally.
Step Two
After you have heated your Coconut Oil, add in the Jojoba Oil, and 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil. Apply this mix to your toweled dry hair. Make sure you focus on your ends and minimize what goes on your scalp. Leave this on for about 30-60 minutes. If I am going to spend the time to do this coconut oil hair treatment, I leave it on for an hour. If you have nice weather, sit in the sun and keep the hair warm so it has the time to really repair the damaged hair.
Step Three
Mix the eggs with the water. Rinse your hair with very warm water. The coconut oil will come out a little but it will still feel greasy. This is SUPER important. Before you apply the egg mixture to your hair-rinse your hair again with very cold water then squeeze out and apply the raw egg mixture. This is to prevent the eggs from cooking in your hair. Let the egg mixture sit on the hair for 5-10 minutes and then rinse with very cool/cold water.
Step Four
Mix 2 Tbsp. of Castile Soap with 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil and wash your scalp and hair thoroughly. This mixture will create suds, so shorter hair will need less of the mixture. Rinse and towel dry hair! Depending on your hair type – you may need to repeat the rinse. My hair is thick and naturally wavy and I did 2 washes.
Step Five
Style as usual!
